He served in Conn. and R. I. as Second Lieutant, 1776-1777. Reenlisted as a Captain in the revolutionary army under Gen. Washington; was present at the surrender of Lord Cornwallis; turned out in 1779 to repel the enemy at New Haven; Second Lieut, in Rhode Island and Connecticut, 1776-77. He studied law and was engaged in the mercantile business in Somers, Conn., at the time of his death.
