He served in Conn. and R. I. as Second Lieutant, 1776-1777. Reenlisted as a Captain in the revolutionary army under Gen. Washington; was present at the surrender of Lord Cornwallis; turned out in 1779 to repel the enemy at New Haven; Second Lieut, in Rhode Island and Connecticut, 1776-77. He studied law and was engaged in the mercantile business in Somers, Conn., at the time of his death.

She m. (2) Hezekiah Goodrich, b. 22 May 1745, son of Capt Jeremiah Goodrich, b. 9 Sep. 1709, and Ruth Kimberly, b. 20 Feb. 1710; she d. 21 Mar. 1813 in Conn., he d. 21 Apr 1817 in Colchester, Conn.
