He d. 17 Apr. 1740; she m. (2) James Hays, of Danbury.

James Hays and Ann, his wife, both of Danbury, conveyed to their "loving children, Ezra and Seth Kellogg, of Danbury, John Kellogg and Mary Smith, of Norwalk, and Ann, wife of Elnathan Knapp, of Danbury," their right of dower in the land of her late husband, John Kellogg, 4 Jan., 1760.

There was set off, 7 Sept., 1739, to John Kellogg, land at Ellis Neck, valued at £9, 4 s., 6 d., and on 27 Dec. 1739, "8 acres at ye upper end of Silver Mine Hill." In 1731, the Parish of Canaan in Norwalk was established, and John's house was included in this parish, but in Oct., 1738, he was allowed, by act of the General Assembly, to leave the Parish of Canaan and rejoin Norwalk. His estate, appraised at £1,800, was distributed in 1750.
