He d. in Ann Arbor, Mich., 23 Jan. 1882; she d. in Chicago, 28 July 1893. He was collector for large commercial houses in New York. He was Maj. Of Militia in 1840; United States Consul to Basle, Switzerland in 1844; was a War Democrat and a Universalist.
