He d. in Auburn, N. Y., 22 Mar. 1861.

He learned the tanner's and currier's trades in Moravia, N. Y. In 1832, he was a merchant in Auburn; in Ann Arbor, Mich., from 1836 to '40, when he returned to Auburn. He was Postmaster in Auburn under Presidents Taylor and Fillmore. After his death, she res. in Ann Arbor.

James Kellogg Warden {8657} <1.2b.3a.4f.5c.6j.7i.8c.9d.10e.11d>, b. 24 Aug. 1842; m. Annie McCauley, of Jeffersonville, Ind.; was Lieut. in the United States army; was transferred from the volunteer to the regular army for his meritorious service; drowned 15 Dec. 1869.
