He was a farmer; served in the War of 1812 as a Capt.

Angeline Calkins {8107} <1.2b.3a.4f.5c.6j.7a.8d.9e.10b.11e>, b. 4 May 1817 in Elizabethtown; m. in Washington Co., Ia., 20 May 1850, Winthrop Farley, son of Edward Farley, Jr. and Mary Ann Moore, b. 15 Jan. 1831 in Nauvoo, Ill.; rem. to Weber, Utah with him; he was a blacksmith in Ogden, Utah; she was one of the pioneers of Utah and Weber County and was particularly well known in southern Utah, where she was employed in the St. George Temple; he d. 18 Sep. 1892 in Manassa, Colo.; she d. 21 Jan. 1900 in Ogden; she had five children; he had an additional (concurrent) four wives: Mary Ellen Reed (m. 2 Jan. 1853, four children), Lydia Pons (m. 24 Mar. 1857, thirteen children), Mary Elizabeth Hastings (m. 24 Jan. 1863, eleven children) and Sophia Larson (m. 18 Mar. 1881, no children), who all survived his death.
