He was a cooper in East Bloomfield, served the U. S. Army as a cooper durinng Civil War, d. 25 Aug. 1865 of dysentery, while serving.

S. sentence as an eight-year old child of Myrtillo, but by 1865, it seems both her parents had died, and no definitive trace of her can be located, likely d. or was fostered. While a Mary G. Kellogg appears as an aged 17 servant in the household of the Fox family of Verona, N. Y. in the 1870 census, her age and the fact that both were born in N. Y., are the only linking features for someone with a very common name.
