ELIZABETH KELLOGG {} <1.2b.3a.4f.5c.6e.7a.8g.9b>, dau. of Stephen Chester {} <1.2b.3a.4f.5c.6e.7a.8g>, b. in Newington, Conn., 7 July 1752; m. in Newington, Conn., 27 Jan. 1774, as his second wife, John Lusk, Jr., b. in Newington, Conn., 10 Feb. 1748, son of John Lusk, and Jane Trumbull.

He d. 6 May 1814 in Pittsford, N. Y.

She d. 21 Apr. 1836 in Caanan, N. Y.

He served in the Revolutionary War as a private; rem. to Richmond, Berkshire Co., Mass., about 1788-89, and to the Genesee region of New York with Stephen, his oldest son, and a hired man in early summer 1789. In Turner's Phelps Purchase is an interesting account of his removal to Monroe Co., N. Y. He is called a "Pioneer." They traveled upon the Indian trail, via Skaneatelas, Onondaga Hollow, and from there to Cayuga Lake. He and the others drove cattle, erected a log cabin and cleared twelve acres to raise a crop of wheat. In the spring of 1790 returned to Massachusetts, and with his family made the journey to his new home. The family of John Lusk may be said to be the first family located upon all the territory now embraced in Monroe County.

(2), Jan. 1801, Sarah Hincher, b. 25 Aug. 1777 in Berkshire, Mass., dau. of William and Mehetibel Hincher; he d. 20 Mar. 1860 in Pittsford, N. Y.; they had six children: Dennis (1802-1884), Henry (1804-1867), Harvey (1804-1807), Chloe (1807-1887), Sarah Ann (1810-1841), Heman Stephen (1812-1856).

Y., Catherina Vandenberg, bap. 25 Feb. 1787, dau. of Mathys and Elisabeth Vandenburg; he d. 23 Nov. 1818 in Coxsackie, N. Y.; she d. after 1850; had four children: John Kellogg, Jr. (1805-), Rev. Mathias (1807-1883), William Henry (1810-1874), Jacob (1813-1834).

Norman Lusk {2384} <1.2b.3a.4f.5c.6e.7a.8g.9b.10d>, b. in Lenox, Mass., 25 Apr. 1781; may be twin of John Kellogg; prob. m. Polly ---, reportedly b. 1788 in R. I.; he was a farmer; d. between 1850 and 1859, although some trees specify much earlier (23 Nov. 1818 in Greene Cnty., N. Y.); she d. after 1870; possibly had at least two children: Miranda (1813-), Emily (1815-).

Jason Lusk {2387} <1.2b.3a.4f.5c.6e.7a.8g.9b.10e>, b. in Newington, Conn., 1787; m. Elizabeth Hallenbeck; he d. 3 July 1854 in Coxsackie, N.
