Nathaniel Carter, b. 4 Mar. 1706 in Lancaster, Mass., and Thankful White Sawyer, b. 24 Mar. 1715 in Lancaster.

She d. 20 June 1810 in Lowville, N. Y.; he d. there 15 Oct. 1810.

Prob. served in Capt. Ephraim Fitch's Co., Col. Ashley's (Berkshire Cnty.) Regt. in the Revolutionary War for nineteen days of 1777. Rem. to Lowville, N. Y., in their old age, and d. there, at the house of their son, Phederus. The longevity of this family was remarkable, four of the children having lived to the age of more than 90 years.

David McConoughey, b. 27 May 1731 in Waltham, Mass., and Anna Carnahan, b. 1734 in Blandford; Mary, disgusted at the increase of intemperance and poverty in Blandford, decided to move her family to Ohio, leaving Blandford 9 Nov.1810, and arriving in Aurora, Ohio on New Year's day, 1811. There they remained through that summer, and built their own log cabin in northern Bainbridge. The David McConougheys were one of only two families in the township until 1814. He d. 25 Sep. 1849 in Bainbridge; she d. 22 Jan. 1864 in Oberlin, Ohio; had eight children: Col. Porter David (1793-1867), Polly Eliza (1795-1867), Selina (1797-1881), Sally (1799-1802), Portia Ann (1801-1870), David Carter (1804-1874), Eli Hector (1808-1869), Austin Nehemiah (1812-1898).
